Sleep aid assistance for noise/snoring?
I cannot sleep with my boyfriend next to me, because he snores. Its not one of those rumbling ones, where it sounds like an oiking pig throughout the house. He has really heavy breathing that once in awhile can get louder and worse, while he sleeps. But I’m a very light sleeper when it comes to sound and light, so MOST things keep me up.
BUT FIRST, I’ve read everyone else’s questions and answers. I’m not gonna throw a strip on his nose or make him see the dr, or beat him with a pillow.
I am asking, what is it that I can do to help my sleep? Is there a pill or something subtle I can take or do, to/for myself, so I can sleep through light noise?
Like tylenol PM or something similar to that? (Perscriptive drugs appreciated, but not convient for me at this time)
I would really appreciate any answers (that dont regard in change HIS habits) that are tips/guides for better my own sleep, not his.
(and please, i dont need 800 replys for “earplugs” because they dont work for me)

Why did my b/f’s snoring get worse over time?
I have been w/ my b/f for 9 mos. now. He use to snore when we first got together but not as much as he does now. He snores everynight, and I cant sleep because of it so I move to the couch. The longest I can stay in the same bed with him a night is about 2 hours.
I use to be able to sleep the whole night with him, he would snore, but it wouldnt last long, and wasnt an every night thing.
He wont go to the doctor for it, which does tick me off cuz its like he dont care.
But my question is, why would his snoring get worse over time??
snoring and sleep apnea?
ok just posted 2 questions, what age do you start to snore and what age can sleep apnea start.
The reason being, my g/f has told me that i have sleep apnea(no doubt about it she said). And go see a doc. And it was the first night we were together lol. I said whats sleep apnea as im 37, and surely i cant have a problem. But she reassured me i have. I have always felt kind of tired since i left school, lol. i get a good nights sleep and can still feel tired. Though that could be anything and not sleep apnea, stress or something. Thats why i posted the 2 questions. I did see my doc about the sleep apnea but he just laughed. I am slightly overweight and sleep on my back. Now im wondering how long i could have had sleep apnea ?? help!!!!!!!

Snoring, swollen tonsils and loud breathing?
Im asking this question for my parents.
My 7 year old sister has been snoring, loudly, for over a year. I can hear it in my room with the fan on and she’s across the hall. Her tonsils are constantly swollen, they now cover her throat but they don’t bother her when she talks or swallows food. She also breathes loudly, not so loudly you can hear it across the room, but if she’s sitting next to you, you can hear it.
She’s healthy, no constant ear infections (I had that growing up), she did have strep throat on and off for about three months last spring, but that’s been it. She’s very active, not overweight and her growth is very normal.
She has an appointment to visit a specialist, but we are all very curious what the diagnosis might be. Her pediatrician also mentioned sleep apnea (sp).
My mom and I both have our tonsils and adenoids removed.
She’s at a perfectly healthy weight.
As for allergies, she isn’t constantly stuffed up or showing the other symptoms. Yesterday she had some allergy problems because we found a kitten and she was holding it and she’s allergic, but last night she didn’t actually snore.

Questions on Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy?
Hi, I’m supposed to be getting surgery on the 13th and I’m nervous as hell. I’m a 22 year old male and I can’t breathe through my nose, have asthma and snore really loud. My question is will the tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy benefit me in these areas? And I have somewhat of a nasally voice and I’m wondering if that will go away too. To anyone who has had this procedure done, can you give me some input on recovery and anything else I should know? Thanks
